Paul G. McQuillan, 75, of Budd Lake, NJ, passed away January 2, 2006 after a lengthy illness.  Paul was born to Lawrence and (Bridget) Elizabeth McQuillan in Norwalk, CT, where he spent his childhood.  He was survived by his sister Mary in Norwalk, CT, sons Dennis in Santa Fe, NM, Mike in Budd Lake, NJ, and Jim in Jacksonville Beach, FL, grandchildren Grace, Rory, Aiden, Shannon, and Lauren, and by cousins Patrick McNulty, Mary O’Brien, Veronica Sheeran, and James McNulty in Swinford, County Mayo, Ireland, where his mother was born and raised.  Paul played football in high school, college, and as a semi-professional.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served as a B-36 Bomber radar operator, Staff Sergeant, during the Korean War.  Paul earned a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Connecticut, and spent nearly 45 years in his career with Allied Signal and Honeywell of Morristown, NJ, attributing several patents to his name related to the wax and emulsion industry.  Paul learned how to play the violin as a child, became an accomplished violinist and violist, played in symphonies and string quartets, and was a self-described “chamber-music nut.”  The beautiful music that he spun with his bow and strings was enjoyed by many people during his lifetime.  Also see our music webpage. 

The Memorial Service and Funeral Mass were held on January 13 and 14, 2006, respectfully.  Click here for pictures from the Memorial Service.  Paul's ashes were spread at sea by the U.S. Coast Guard during a military burial on August 19, 2006 (pictures here).
